In the case of an M6 fastener, the 'M' signifies an ISO Metric thread and the '6' signifies the nominal diameter.

Our metric range of fasteners have the standard coarse pitch unless otherwise stated. A coarse pitch M6 bolt or screw will screw into any coarse pitch M6 nut.

Each fastener table is accompanied by a product photograph and lists the materials and thread diameters available for each.

Fastener Material Key
A1	A1 Stainless Steel- Also known as grade 303. A general purpose grade of stainless steel but with better fabrication/machining properties than grade 304.
A2	A2 Stainless Steel - Also known as grade 304 or 18/8. A general purpose grade of stainless steel.
A4	A4 Stainless Steel - Also known as grade 316 or 18/8/3. A higher corrosion resistant, marine grade of stainless steel.
A4-80	A4-80 Stainless Steel - Identical corrosion resistance to A4-70 but with a higher tensile strength equivalent to that of 8.8 high tensile steel.
A5	A5 Stainless Steel - A special stainless steel, also known as 316Ti and 1.4571. Similar to A4 but stabilised with titanium. Popularly employed in the chemical industry.
BO-10.9	Black Oxide High Tensile Steel Class 10.9 - A high tensile non-stainless grade with a black oxide finish offering limited corrosion resistance.
BO-12.9	Black Oxide High Tensile Steel Class 12.9 - A high tensile non-stainless grade with a black oxide finish offering limited corrosion resistance.
BO-45H	Black Oxide Coated Steel with 45H Hardness - A standard hardness grade relevant to set or grub screws, items that are not used in tension. Includes a black oxide finish offering limited corrosion resistance.
Brass	Brass - Offers an attractive, corrosion resistant finish.
Nickel Brass	Nickel Plated Brass - Nickel finished brass offering a warm toned white metal aesthetic.
BZP	Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Steel - Non-stainless standard steel grade offering a basic level of corrosion resistance.
BZP-10.9	Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Class 10 High Tensile Steel - A high strength non-stainless grade for screws and bolts, with a basic level of corrosion resistance.
BZP-12.9	Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Class 12 High Tensile Steel - A higher tensile non-stainless grade for screws and bolts, with a basic level of corrosion resistance.
BZP-45H	Bright Zinc Plated Steel (BZP) with 45H Hardness - A standard hardness grade relevant to set or grub screws, items that are not used in tension. Includes a zinc plated coating for a degree of corrosion resistance.
BZP-8.8	Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Class 8 High Tensile Steel - The general purpose high tensile grade for screws and bolts, with a basic level of corrosion resistance.
Duplex	Duplex Stainless Steel 1.4462 - A type of stainless steel which has greater corrosion resistance than A4 / 316 and a high tensile strength of minimum 700 N/mm2. Also known as 318LN.
GV-8.8	Hot Dip Galvanised Steel Class 8.8 High Tensile - High tensile non-stainless carbon steel with a thick zinc plating, offering a high level of corrosion resistance for the outdoors.
Nylon	Plastic (Nylon Polyamide) - A tough lightweight plastic, strong at low temperatures, with excellent resistance to chemicals, and features favourable sliding friction behaviour.
PE-Blk	Plastic (Black Polyethylene) - Has good barrier properties and good chemical resistance against acid, greases, and oil.
PE-White	Plastic (White Polyethylene) - Has good barrier properties and good chemical resistance against acid, greases, and oil.
ZnFlk-10.9	Organic Zinc Flake Coated Class 10 High Tensile Steel - A higher tensile non-stainless grade for screws and bolts. Coated with superior mechanically applied zinc with corrosion resistance lasting 480 hours in the salt spray test.
ZnFlk-12.9	Organic Zinc Flake Coated Class 12 High Tensile Steel - A higher tensile non-stainless grade for screws and bolts. Coated with superior mechanically applied zinc with corrosion resistance lasting 480 hours in the salt spray test.

Also known as an Allen screw or Allen bolt, or simply a cap screw. Socket Head Cap screws are a more modern alternative standard machine fastener to the standard hexagon headed bolt or setscrew, as found on much modern machinery. A hex key (otherwise known as an Allen key) is required to fit these fasteners. Conforming to DIN 912 or ISO 4762. Please note that due to manufacturing limitations, all nylon variants of these items are only "similar to" and not "in absolute accordance with" the standard specified.

Fine pitch screws are used in conjunction with a fine pitch threaded hole, or with fine pitch nuts which are also available on this website. The extra thread engagement gained from the finer pitch gives a more secure and stronger fitment. Used where high levels of strength are required - a fine pitch bolt has a larger stress area creating better tension than its coarse pitch counterpart, also they are less inclined to loosening through vibration due to the thread incline being smaller.
