Cap Bolts

Historically the term Cap Bolt refers to Hexagon Head Sets/Bolts or Socket Head Cap Screws/Bolts. But for the layman, Cap Bolt can also be used for many other types of bolt or screw, particularly those requiring a socket or allen key. Shown below are examples of such; Socket Button, Socket Countersunk and Socket Set Screws (Grub Screws) as well as the more well know Socket Head Cap and Hexagon Head derivatives.
Material Key
A2
A2 Stainless Steel - also known as grade 304 or 18/8. A general purpose grade of stainless steel.
A4
A4 Stainless Steel - also known as grade 316 or 18/8/3. A higher corrosion resistant, marine grade of stainless steel.
A4-80
A4-80 Stainless Steel - identical corrosion resistance to A4-70 but with a higher tensile strength equivalent to that of 8.8 high tensile steel.
BO
Black oxide high tensile steel class 12+ - a high tensile non-stainless grade with a black oxide finish offering limited corrosion resistance
BZP-12.9
Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) high tensile steel class 12 - a higher tensile non-stainless grade for screws and bolts, with a basic level of corrosion resistance.
BZP-8.8
Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Class 8 high tensile steel - the general purpose non-stainless grade for screws and bolts, with a basic level of corrosion resistance.
Duplex
Duplex Stainless Steel 1.4462 - a type of stainless steel, which has greater corrosion resistance than A4 / 316 and a high tensile strength of minimum 700 N/mm2. Also known as 318LN.
Nylon
Plastic (Nylon Polyamide) - a tough lightweight plastic, strong at low temperatures, with excellent resistance to chemicals, and features favourable sliding friction behaviour.
ZnFlk-12.9
Zinc Flake coated high tensile steel class 12 - a higher tensile non-stainless grade for screws and bolts. Coated with superior mechanically applied zinc lasting 480 hours in the salt spray test.
