A4 Stainless Steel Coach Bolts Metric

Coach bolts, also referred to as carriage bolts have a square section beneath their domed head. As there is no drive on the top surface of the bolt, the corners of the square neck shape dig into wood and stop the bolt from spinning as the nut is tightened. The wide head stops the head from being pulled through the clearance hole and spreads the load against the wood.

A2	A2 Stainless Steel- Also known as grade 304 or 18/8. A general purpose grade of stainless steel.
A4	A4 Stainless Steel - Also known as grade 316 or 18/8/3. A higher corrosion resistant, marine grade of stainless steel.
Brass	Brass - Offers an attractive, corrosion resistant finish.
BZP	Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Steel - Non-stainless standard steel grade offering a basic level of corrosion resistance.
BZP-8.8	Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Class 8 High Tensile Steel - The general purpose high tensile grade for screws and bolts, with a basic level of corrosion resistance.

Coach Bolts DIN 603 with partial thread in A4 Stainless Steel

Generally used in timber to timber and timber to metal construction, these bolts incorporate a square neck to grip the hole in the timber when fitting, and therefore negates the need for any drive recess to be included on top of the head. Supplied to DIN 603. Manufactured with a partially threaded shank. Nuts are supplied separately, unlike the mild steel versions available elsewhere on the site.
